About La Grange
La Grange is a village in Cook County with a population of 15,550 (2010 census). It is located approximately 13 miles from the Chicago loop, relatively near the big city. The area around La Grange was first occupied in the 1830s by residents from Chicago wanting to move out west because of the city’s rise in population that resulted from its incorporation. La Grange was named the most transit-friendly suburb in the entire Chicago area in 2012 by researchers at DePaul University. Their criteria included train service, the degree to which town centers come together around stations, walkability, and overall "community connectivity".
Downtown La Grange

Tom Livingston, the village president says that "City people who struggle with the normal suburbs find in La Grange a downtown that meets urban standards yet they can have a home with a driveway for their car.”
